S2K Boot Review - adidas F50 adizero TRX FG Messi

The adidas F50 adizero TRX FG Messi is one of the lightest shoes on the market. With inspiration from Lionel Messi of Barcelona and the Argentina National team, this shoe clearly makes a statement with its speed and color way. Our customers review the upper, fit, outsole and the color of the shoe.

Take a look at what they thought!

The upper of the adidas F50 is unlike any other on the market. The shoe weighs a total of 5.3 ounces with the upper made specifically to excel in any condition at high speeds. Most of our reviews said the first thing they noticed was how light the shoe was stating, "very soft and light upper that feels like it would break in easily". The upper also has Dribbletex which allows for speed dribbling on the toe with a rubber finish to provide enhanced grip in all conditions. On the down side, the tongue of the shoe has been shifted to a more plastic tongue that all around got negative reviews. Customers thought the tongue was "too stiff" and "cut into the ankle" making the shoe not as comfortable as it could have been. Overall, despite the bad tongue the majority of our reviewers enjoyed the lightness and flexibility of the shoe.

Because the F50 is so light adidas does not put a lot into the shoe. There are thin liners that help keep the foot from sliding around while also maintaining the weight. There are additional liners that come with the boot. However, adding the liners will add more weight to the boot reducing its speed. Reviewers tried the boot on without the additional lining and overall had a pretty good review. Most claimed the fit to be "wider than Nike" and also " very comfortable and light." One of the negative reviews were that the heel was too wide and the toe box became too narrow in the front. We also had a few reviews dock points for the shoe feeling "unsupportive." With a super light shoe it is hard to add the extra comfort without compromising the overall lightness of the boot.

The F50 adizero is made with the same outsole technology as previous boots. The Speedtraxion allows for quick movements all over the field. The stud alignment allows for maximum acceleration and quicker turns in all conditions. The Sprint Frame allows the boot to move seamlessly, maintaining stability while in quick movements. Reviewers loved the outsole stating that it was "very stable" and "flexiable yet comfortable."

The scale is between one and five. One being the worst and five being the best. Reviewers were asked to rate each category according to this scale. Averages were then taken.

Futsal - Your Questions Answered

Futsal is becoming ever so popular among soccer players in America, especially in the Chicago land area. Futsal in simple terms, is a small sided soccer game. There are many different aspects, however that put futsal in a completely different category then outdoor or even larger scale indoor games. Futsal began in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1930 when Juan Carlos Ceriani created a five-a-side version of soccer. The United States later adopted and trademarked the word Futsal which is derived from Portugese or Spanish from the words Futbol or Futebol meaning "soccer" and the French or Spanish word for "indoor"  which is Salon or Sala.

The skill developed in this game is visible in players such as Pele, Zico, Socrates, Bebeto and other Brazilian superstars that developed their skill playing Futsal. Brazil continues to be the Futsal hub of the world, the game is now played all over the world, from Europe to North and Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Africa, and Asia and Oceania. The game helps players develop their individual skills for a larger style game. Futsal focuses on quick touches rather long distances of running.

Now that you know a little history lets talk about how to improve your own futsal games so that maybe you can be the next Pele!

There are four important steps in learning new futsal skills.

1. Take one move at a time. Make sure you know each move inside and out before moving on to another one.

2. Watching and learning from other players is vital. If you are struggling with a move, watching other players or games can help you develop good habits in order to carry out your moves.

3. Your ball is your new best friend - Carry it everywhere you go and I mean everywhere. The more touches you have on the ball the more comfortable you will be in a game setting.

4. Start learning each move on your favored foot. Once you are comfortable with the move, switch over to your weaker foot and perfect it.

Nutrition For Soccer Players

Nutrition can get tricky when dealing with athletes and their crazy schedules. Between school, homework and soccer practice nutrition is easily over looked. It may come to a surprise to some that maintaining a higher carbohydrate driven diet with lower overall calorie intake is better for athletes versus filling up on protein and quick sugars.

To start, carbohydrates are the building blocks for all energy that the body consumes daily. Athletes burn double if not more calories daily and therefore require more energy to power their bodies. Sugars in energy drinks are burned off quickly and can leave an athlete feeling fatigued and drowsy.

Most people think that eating the day of your big game is enough to keep you going through the whole game. In reality preparation for the game should take place a few days prior. Making sure to drink adequate liquids all week is vital to staying hydrated during your game. Also, make sure to eat good meals consisting of proteins and carbohydrates with little added fats. Good examples of this would be pasta, rice, tomato sauce with meat, lean meat, fish or poultry, potatoes and cooked peas, beans or lentils. All of these foods will give your body energy the following days to ensure you don't run out.

On game day what you put into your body is absolutely vital to your performance on the field. On the day of your big game eat a large meal (300-500 calories) four to five hours before your game. Then, eat a smaller meal (200-300 calories) two to three hours before. After that do a liquid meal about an hour prior to game. Your stomach digest liquids fast and easy so it won't cause you discomfort during your game. If you still feel like you need something before your game, opt for a protein bar high in carbohydrates a half hour before your game. By sticking to a schedule like this or one similar, your providing your body with energy so you don't experience any lags during play.

When eating your meals on game day, make sure to pick the right types of food to ingest. Picking foods such as French fries, candy, chips and fast food will be harder for your body to process and break down. During a high intensity game your body sends nearly 80% of your blood to your muscles leaving your digestive tract dormant. If your stomach is full of slow digesting food you will feel like your soccer ball is in your stomach rather than on the field. Make sure to monitor the types of food you choose to eat.

Before and during your game make sure to push fluids, even if it is cold outside. When you exercise you sweat thus releasing water and electrolytes from your system. During the first hour of play drink water to stay hydrated. After about an hour, switch over to an electrolyte replacement drink to ensure sustained energy for the rest of the game. Water is great for hydration but lacks the sugars, salts and nutrients that your body loses during game play.

Whether your a professional or you just play for fun, focusing on what you eat and drink can dramatically impact your play on the field and deserves more attention then you might be use to.

Soccer 2000 Boot Review - Adidas Nitrocharge

Soccer 2000 Boot Review
Adidas Nitrocharge

The Adidas Nitrocharge was created for one purpose... to simply super charge your game.

The upper of the Nitrocharge is a super soft material that is a hybrid of leather and synthetic that keeps flexibility in and water out. The Energysling across the top of the shoe is designed for stability and control during games. The review of this boot revealed that most players thought the upper was "comfortable and flexible". Some, however, thought the "Energysling was too tight around the foot".

The fit of the shoe was pretty half and half as to whether customers liked or disliked the way it felt on their foot. The boot is lined with a synthetic leather for comfort and anti-slipping during games. According to one reviewer, "the fit was too tight for my bunions and was uncomfortable because of it". Another reviewed stated the opposite, "the fit was snug but not too tight where it became uncomfortable". With such divided responses on the fit, it is clear that this shoe appeals more to a slender foot without previous issues or problems. The Nitrocharge delivers a snug fit in order to prevent slippage during games and practices.

The outsole of the Nitrocharge is constructed with Adidas's new technology called Energypulse. Energypulse works to provide premium energy output during the toe-off phase of a sprint. Energypulse also helps you with your vertical jumps allowing you to reach new heights. The Nitrocharge is fitted with Adidas's Traxion 2.0 FG stud configuration allowing for maximum grip and acceleration on all natural firm-ground surfaces. Overall, most reviewers praised the stud configuration of the Nitrocharge stating that it "allows for better traction" and that "the studs seem strong and stable compared to others". The negatives that were stated by reviewers were "I wish the studs were rounded" and "I do not like how bulky the miCoach storage area is". The miCoach may look bulky but has not proved to inhibit play or traction.

The color of this boot was unlike any color we have seen on the Nitrocharge. It has a bright and eye catching color that encompasses everything that the Adidas Samba pack was suppose to. The color was greatly accepted by most. It was a fresh start to a shoe that never really stood out before.
